Transparency in Coverage (TIC) regulations require health insurers and group health plans to create machine readable files (MRFs) that contain the negotiated rates for in-network providers and allowed amounts derived from historical claims for out-of-network providers and make those files publicly available. They must be made available on an open access website effective July 1, 2022.
The Transparency in Coverage (TIC) rules require fully insured and self-funded group health plans to publicly disclose, via machine readable files (MRFs), In-Network provider rates for covered services and out-of-network allowed amounts and billed charges for covered services.

To assist in complying with the TIC regulations, Empire has created, and will be periodically updating, the required MRFs on White Plains Hospital's behalf.
The link will allow for the search of MRFs using a company's Employer Identification Number (EIN).
Empire is committed to delivering on meaningful transparency efforts that help consumers make informed healthcare decisions and in supporting the Transparency in Coverage regulations, as outlined by the Tri-Agencies.
