Advanced Neurological Care
The White Plains Hospital Neurosciences program is led by renowned physician Dr. Rafael Alexander Ortiz. Dr. Ortiz is board-certified in neurology, vascular neurology and CNS endovascular surgery and has worked at the forefront of neuro-endovascular surgery for the last 20 years. He received a Recognition of Focused Practice in CNS endovascular surgery from the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is currently the President of the American Heart Association NYC Board of Directors.
Prior to joining White Plains Hospital, Dr. Ortiz was founder and Chief of Neuro-Endovascular Surgery and Interventional Neuro-Radiology at Lenox Hill Hospital and Northwell Health's Western Region. Dr. Ortiz was also Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, Neurology and Radiology at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.

Neuro-endovascular Surgery
White Plains Hospital is pleased to offer the full complement of neuro-endovascular surgery procedures. Neuro-endovascular surgery can successfully address a variety of neurological diseases of the brain, head, neck, spine, and spinal cord regions. Through a minimally invasive procedure, an endovascular device is introduced through a small catheter in a vein or artery in the groin and connected to the affected blood vessel.

Seizure Diagnostic Center
The Seizure Diagnostic Center at White Plains Hospital is the only adult Level 4 Specialized Epilepsy Center in the region, as rated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). We evaluate each patient with state-of-the-art technology to provide the basis for accurate assessments of various seizure disorders. We also confer with the patient’s personal physician regarding the most promising treatment options.
