Pain management

The Pain Management program at White Plains Hospital provides comprehensive, personalized care for the management of acute or chronic pain. The program works closely with physicians and other professionals from many specialties to ensure the best possible outcomes for the patient.

Chronic pain syndromes can be extremely complex medical problems that have profound effects on your physical and mental well-being. Your ability to fully function at work, at home and your day-to-day social interactions can all be affected by pain symptoms.

Because of its complexity, during an initial interview your clinician will inquire about pain symptoms as part of obtaining a complete medical history. In addition, various testing may be done, including blood tests, X-rays and other imaging techniques to help determine the source of your pain and guide appropriate therapies.

With treatments being as complex as the causes of pain, our clinicians will offer compassionate, professional care to support the patient until the appropriate treatment is determined. A number of treatment options, including physical rehabilitation, counseling, medications and complementary therapies can allow patients to return to a full, active life. Please note that our physicians do not see patients for ongoing pain medicine management.

Our goal is to help you decrease your level of pain and suffering, to return you to your maximum level of functioning and independence, and to help you restore your quality of life.
