Urologic surgery

The fellowship-trained, board-certified urologic surgeons at White Plains Hospital provide highly skilled care in treating multiple urinary tract disorders using minimally invasive robotic surgery, as well as traditional open surgery when necessary. They operate in state-of-the-art surgical suites using patient-centered technology and advanced imaging.

Our expert surgeons treat a wide range of urologic conditions affecting men and/or women including:

  • Prostate, bladder and kidney problems including cancer
  • Cancer of the testes
  • Benign and malignant adrenal tumors
  • Reconstruction of congenital kidney disorders such as ureteropelvic junction obstruction
  • Urinary leakage/stress incontinence
  • Urinary difficulty
  • Pelvic organ prolapse

Today, when robotic surgery is an option, our surgeons perform a number of urologic procedures using the da Vinci® Surgical System. In fact, we were the only hospital in the county to acquire two of the latest generation daVinci® Xi™ Surgical Systems to enhance patient safety and surgical outcomes. The robot's instrumentation magnifies the surgeon's field of view and provides them with greater hand control and comfort. The surgical procedure inside the patient is the same as open surgery, but is performed through a series of very small abdominal incisions through which the robot’s surgical arms are inserted.
